2014 is officially going out the door as Christmas items are rolling into stores and events are opening registration for next spring’s renditions. In that spirit the Game Developers Conference (GDC) has announced that discounted attendee registration for the is now open, with the steepest discount in prices for early registration purchases ending January 21, 2015. 

The GDC continues to be the game industry’s largest and longest running professionals-only conference, featuring top industry leaders sharing their expertise and best practices for developers. GDC will take place March 2-6, 2015 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California.

The conference features over 400 lectures, panels, tutorials and round-table discussions on a comprehensive selection of game development topics taught by leading industry experts. In addition, the GDC expo showcases all of the most relevant game development tools, platforms and services helping to drive the industry forward. The conference also features the seventeenth annual Independent Games Festival, the longest-running and largest festival relating to independent games worldwide, where original games compete for the attention of the publishing community, and the fifteenth annual Game Developers Choice Awards, the premier accolades for peer-recognition in the digital games industry.

The GDC Summits kick off the weeklong event and take place over the first two days of the event The specialized Summits are comprised of lectures and panels that span a variety of topics and industry trends to encourage community building, expand the gaming landscape, and provide key insight on the future of games.

The Summits at GDC will feature two new additions to their lineup: the eSports Summit, which addresses the rising popularity of professional gaming events and tournaments, and the Community Management Summit, which centers on the evolving video game community, covering topics from user loyalty to managing public opinion.

- Game Narrative Summit
- GDC Education Summit
- Independent Games Summit
- Smartphones & Tablet Games Summit

GDC aims to unite industry experts, game developers, and the public for a week of learning and networking. Multiple lectures, postmortems, roundtables, panels, and more will be presented during GDC and divided into seven tracks dedicated to specific sectors of game development.
